Pilot Training Officer / Instructor Pilot

Purpose:

Maintains the position of a Pilot Captain with all duties and responsibilities. In addition, with coordination of 10th Flying Wing, 1st Squadron Training Section, responsible for conducting a continual ground and flight training program for pilots of 1st Squadron.

Duties:

  • Performs the typical duties as described for a Pilot Captain.
  • Conducts ground training programs for all pilots in the review and study of aircraft systems, emergency procedures, and standard operating procedures in accordance with the Aircraft Flight Manual and RSAF Flying and Policy Manuals.
  • Conducts a flight training program as required for pilot competency, including upgrade training for First Officers and standardization and experience training for low-time pilots of Logistics Aircraft.
  • Prepares training manuals and maintains records of all ground and flight training lessons.
  • Assists the Stand/Eval Officer in the review and updating of RSAF Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Coordinates and works with 1st Squadron Training Officer as required.

Normal Background And Experience Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent education with a thorough knowledge of FAA, ICAO and PCA regulations governing the operation of Logistics aircraft.
  • Qualified current pilot with FAA Airline Transport Rating, FAA Flight Instructor Certificate, and type rating in organizational aircraft with a minimum of 3000 hours of civilian or military related flight time including a minimum of 250 hours as IP on type or a minimum of 100 hour as IP on type and 1000 hours multi-engine jet experience.
  • Two or more years of logistics aircraft operations with thorough knowledge and experience of aircraft systems and procedures are normally required for satisfactory performance.
  • Experience in flight instruction of type aircraft preferred. FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
