Summary:

The Mechanical Group Head supervises, assigns, schedules, inspects, reviews and oversees through subordinate supervisory personnel all activities of the Mechanical Group. Provides technical direction and guidance for Mechanical Group personnel. Prepares departmental reports, schedules, maintains job status, and departmental records.

Education:

High school (secondary graduate) degree or equivalent education with extensive military or industrial training in the Marine Mechanical trades is required. Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent degree in an engineering discipline is desirable.

Experience:

Twelve (12) years experience in Marine Mechanical trades including five (5) years in a supervisory position. Experience may be military or industrial.

Physical and/or other Requirements:

• Must have pass a complete physical and dental examination.
• Must be able to work in severe environmental conditions.
• Must be proficient in reading, writing and speaking English.
