Logistics Plans Specialist

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists in coordinating and integrating the overall planning efforts of the individual sections within the Plans and Programs Directorate.
- Assists in formulating logistics doctrine to provide a foundation for development of plans and objectives to design and maintain the RSAF logistics infrastructure.
- Assists in the development in coordination with other Logistics directorates a long-range logistics plan which identifies the logistic strategy, objectives and goals necessary to support the operational forces 10-15 years in the future.
- Assists in developing mid-range plans which implement actions to achieve long-range plans and objectives.
- Reviews the adequacy of existing RSAF logistics plans and recommends additional planning efforts as appropriate.
- Reviews requests for studies and analyses, and determines required functional input. Recommends levels of effort and tasking of individual office elements as necessary.
- Conducts studies and analyses in all areas of logistics support as requested by the Chief. Air Force Logistics & Supply and his staff. Accesses the tradeoffs and cost effectiveness of alternative to assess in the logistics management decision making process.
- Evaluates logistics support system requirements. Identifies logistics capabilities necessary to support current and future operational forces. Recommends appropriate management actions for achieving logistics system growth and modernization goals.
- Advises the Director of Plans and Programs on the status of projects and recommends work priorities.
- Conducts individual and group logistics training on a continuing basis for personnel newly assigned to logistics function.
- Assists in coordinating and integrating logistics programs within the logistics area, as required.
- Evaluates management information requirements for Chief, Air Force Logistics & Supply and his staff to ensure sufficient information available for decision making.
- Performs other tasks as required by the Director.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Logistics or other appropriate discipline is mandatory.
- Computer literacy and familiarity with Microsoft Office or similar suite of work processing, spreadsheet, database and graphics programs.
