Aviation Analysis & Planning Manager
Key Tasks:
- Provide senior level assistance to the Director of Commercial Development by taking the lead on aviation analysis and planning, and the execution of senior management strategic initiatives, for the Commercial Development Unit.
- Assess initiatives, and provide direction to senior managers, on specified and implied tasks that enable the successful performance and completion of business projects
- Manage change initiatives to enable horizontal and vertical business development and growth via strategic planning and communication.
- Capture, analyze and integrate market intelligence into strategic planning for the Business Unit.
- Use gathered market intelligence to provide recommendations to senior managers on maximizing returns on current and future business initiatives.
- Maximize efficiencies of team projects (subject matter expert groups) within the Commercial Development Unit through the provision of transparency to teams regarding the integration of activities and required outcomes.
- Ensure that managers responsible for attaining aviation compliant credentials (ISO, AOC, CARB) for the company are kept fully informed regarding actions and initiatives being carried out by the Commercial Development Team.
- Implement PEST (Political, Economic, Social, Technological) situational analyses and SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) analyses to maximize the potential of business opportunities whilst minimizing threats or challenges.
- Manage and nurture relationships with key international aviation business partners such as fellow contractors, suppliers, and compliance accrediting bodies.
- Provide subject matter expertise and analysis to bridge empirical / normative gaps to attain the desired business outcomes.
- Assist in the management of credential-producing major projects which enable commercial capacity and viability (ISO, CARB, AOC).
- Manage project deliverables via planning and the monitoring of milestone achievements.
- Assist in the development of strategic commercial objectives.
- Conduct market and segment analyses.
- Attract and capture market opportunities through research and the provision of findings and recommendations to the Business Development Team.
- Advise the Director in identifying strategic teaming opportunities to maximize market penetration and bid development.
- Manage and aggressively pursue proposal opportunities.
- Manage proposal evaluation team activities during bid preparation.
- Provide guidance for bid graphics and design packages.
- Assure Statement of Work compliance in bid technical discussion.
- Assess commercial aspects of potential suppliers.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in the field of Business or Engineering.
- Military aviation training.
- Commercial, instrument rotary wing aviator.
- At least 1 year of combat aviation experience.
- Senior military echelon/formation staff experience.
- International business acumen
- Proven ability to successfully build and maintain relationships in multicultural environments.
- Ability to interface with senior US military and NATO Officers and provide unique solutions to contractual issues or concerns.
- Proven experience in monitoring separate aviation operations while ensuring safety and financial standards are met.
- Ability to manage and integrate horizontally with other business units.
- Ability to delegate, mentor and guide subordinates to successful outcomes.
Preferable Skills and Qualifications:
- Russian language capabilities.
- Command Experience.
- Microsoft Word / Excel / PowerPoint / Project / Visio / Microsoft Project experience.
