Inbound Operations Manager
Key Tasks:
- Manage the operations of the Inbound Aviation business and support the Assistant Operations Controller in Inbound Operations
- Work with the Assistant Operations Controller to ensure continuous, round the clock management of aircraft and warehousing operations.
- Manage vendor personnel in securing aircraft Prior Permission Required (PPRs), Over Flight Rights, and slot timings
- Develop, institute and monitor operational reporting procedures
- Liaise with cargo recipients to ensure timely offloading of aircraft, and relays to necessary personnel any discrepancies in flight schedules
- Liaise with internal finance personnel to accurately report aircraft manifests, charter information, operational costs, etc.
- Sources aircraft based on operational requirements, aircraft performance capabilities and required delivery timelines
- React rapidly to shifting priorities while maintaining control over critical requirements
- Ensure compliance with ICAO, US Military, NATO, UN and host nation CAA directives
- Manage warehouse and loading personnel
- Manage aircraft and cargo handling vendors
- Manage employee issues, and when necessary liaise with the Human Resources Division
- Oversee a broad range of operations to include:
- Warehousing
- Scheduling
- Cargo Building and Loading
- Customer Liaison
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Prior managerial experience working in a warehousing capacity
- Detailed knowledge of cargo-aircraft load and performance capabilities
- Previous experience with warehousing operations and cargo tracking, monitoring and complying with dangerous goods regulations
- Familiarity with aircraft load construction and requirements
- Experience with invoicing and the development of financial controls, i.e., cost savings and cost comparisons
- Established contacts with actual aircraft providers
- Ability to manage and integrate horizontally with other company business units
- Ability to make sound command decisions based on operational and financial considerations
- Ability to delegate, coach and guide subordinates towards successful outcomes
- Proven experience working within a multicultural environment
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Well developed computer skills
Preferable Skills and Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in aviation warehousing operations
- Prior military-aviation experience
- Experience handling dangerous goods in accordance with IATA regulations
- Extensive knowledge of FAA/ICAO/IATA regulations
- Experience working in an Aviation company during the start up of air carrier operations
