Fuel System Instructor
Position Description:
Position is located at Prince Sultan Air Base - Al-Kharj, Saudi Arabia. Perform aircraft maintenance for the Royal Saudi Air Force AWACS fleet. Technicians will test, troubleshoot, install, remove, inspect, maintain and repair system components and ancillary equipment of installed systems in accordance with current RSAF/Boeing technical publications. Applies technical knowledge to perform routine tasks following detailed instructions. Locates fuel leaks by visual inspection or by removing closure panels and tracing fuel using approved leak tracing methods. Disassembles, replaces, repairs, reassembles and installs components, such as interconnections, manifolds, valves, pumps, booms, pads, receptacles, and attachments. Diagnoses malfunctions on fuel systems such as integrally sealed tanks, fuselages, fuel and water cells, and external tanks. Receives technical guidance as required from supervisor or higher level technician. Work is spot checked for accuracy. Perform additional duties as required by supervisor.
Competencies:
- Ability to perform functions such as installation, repair or modification of aircraft fuel systems and components on E-3A (AWACS), KE-3A (Tanker) or similar military aircraft Fuel Systems.
- Ability to perform functions such as installation, repair or modification of aircraft fuel systems and components on E-3A (AWACS), KE-3A (Tanker) or similar military aircraft Fuel Systems.
- Knowledge of internal hardware such as interconnects, lines, valves, gauges, controls, pumps and other attachments; sealing materials, sheet metal parts; properties of rubber and application of organic sealing compounds; use of layout drawings; technical publications; concepts and application of RSAF technical manuals, maintenance management, and work policies and procedures is mandatory.
- Typically a person in this position will have 707 airframe experience.
- Knowledge of internal hardware such as interconnects, lines, valves, gauges, controls, pumps and other attachments; sealing materials, sheet metal parts; properties of rubber and application of organic sealing compounds; use of layout drawings; technical publications; concepts and application of RSAF technical manuals, maintenance management, and work policies and procedures is mandatory.
- Typically a person in this position will have 707 airframe experience.
Typical Education/Experience:
- Prefer seven years AWACS installation experience, repair or modification of aircraft fuel systems and components or equivalent.
- Airframe and Powerplant license a plus.
