English Language Training Specialist
Summary:
The RSAF requires one (1) English Language Training Specialist in the Evaluation and Follow-up section, Directorate of RSAF Training (DAT). He is to advise, augment, and monitoring of RSAF English Language Training Programs (ELTP). In addition, he will provide assistance to RSAF Base Training Wings and operational units and conduct OJT for RSAF personnel when required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Be thoroughly familiar with the conceptual application of On-the-Job Training (OJT) & ELTP programs.
- Advise the DAT staff on matters pertaining to ELTP for RSAF Technicians and assist with formulating RSAF ELTP policies and directives.
- Develop Review, and Update RSAF Training Directives that provide guidance and policy pertaining to RSAF Training Programs.
- Develop RSAF Specialty Training Standards (STS) using current RSAF Training Guidelines.
- Evaluate RSAF English Language Flights (ELF) to ensure instructor manning and materials are sufficient to support OJT/ELT training.
- Evaluate English Language Training Instructors (ELTI), teaching methodology and textbooks.
- Be familiar with the use of Instructional Systems Development (ISD) programs.
- Enhance RSAF ELTP by performing Training Needs Analysis that identify and rectify ineffective ELTP.
- Prepare reports and briefings, and other correspondence as required.
- Develop and conduct workshops for ELF school teachers with the aim of improving teaching methodology.
- Performs other related training duties, as directed by the Director of Air Force Training, as required.
- Conduct OJT for RSAF personnel as required.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Retired USAF/DLI Training Manager.
- Shall not have less than ten (10) years of experience as a USAF/DLI Training Manager, of which at least five (5) years must have been in a supervisory level position equivalent to an RSAF Superintendent (9-Skill Level).
- Possession of a BS is mandatory, MS degree is preferable in education or applied linguistics.
- EFL/ESL certification and Experience teaching ESL/EFL.
- Must be thoroughly familiar with the utilization of USAF Training Directives, policies and procedures.
- Ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, to include the ability to interact with other RSAF directorates at both the command and the staff level.
- Knowledge of Microsoft PC Systems Software if mandatory.
