Director of Training / Chief Instructor
Job Summary:
The Director of Training / Chief Instructor provides management, Training, leadership and guidance for Flight Instructors and Assistant Chief Instructors, serves as the instructor of record for all flight training courses and ensures compliance with the Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) in the training of students and the supervision of flight instructors.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Certifies all training records, graduation certificates, stage and final test reports; monitors each stage throughout student training program.
- Conducts initial proficiency check of each instructor hired; conducts annual recurrent proficiency checks in accordance with FARs; ensures compliance with FARs.
- Supervises flight training activities, Assistant Chief Instructors and Flight Instructors. Monitors flight instructor performance and makes recommendations. Advises Assistant Chief Flight Instructors.
- Coordinates with scheduling/dispatch activities related to scheduling of students, instructors, and aircraft for flight training. Monitors overall student progress and ensures availability to students
- desiring advice or consultation.
- Maintains currency with regulatory and procedural changes in the flight training environment; reviews and updates all aspects of the flight training program; ensures training materials are current.
- Schedules and leads meetings with staff; meets with prospective students and parents as required; maintains a cooperative and communicative attitude with airport officials and Federal Aviation
- Administration (FAA) personnel; performs other duties as assigned.
- Creates standardization and evaluation of ground and flight training while ensuring continuity of flight education.

- Extensive knowledge of 141 flight school operations and Federal Aviation Regulations

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution, Master's degree preferred.
- Must meet FAA qualifications to serve as Chief Instructor under FAR part 141 for all programs.
- International student flight training experience preferred, specifically CAAC experience.
