Director, Program (Platform Development)
Job Description:
- Accountable for identifying aircraft platform with high specific revenue potential for the Company, developing a platform strategy and plan and driving their implementation across Business Aviation and other sectors.
- Work jointly with the Manager, Strategy and Market Analysis to analyze potential platforms.
- Identify and prioritize platforms of interest (high content match with the Company's capabilities).
- Develop priorities for new products and pursuits
- Analyze supply chain for each platform, working with key stakeholders in the Compnay (Sales, GMs, Product Management, Marketing Communications)
- Analyze existing and potential alliances and leverage to effect elements of the supply chain
- Define solution space for the Company's work scope for each platform
- Devise strategy for each platform
- Seek guidance from customer advisory board on key platform initiatives
- Define work scope for the Company and outside entities
- Prepare implementation plan (scope, budget / business case, schedule) for each platform
- Seek approval for each platform plan through gated launch process
- Engage internal stakeholders through presentation of the strategies and plans
- Form and lead cross-functional teams (integrated product teams, or IPTs)
- Lead external efforts with partners, suppliers and customers, leveraging SA relations
- Support sites in appropriating funds and procuring tooling, training and other resources to become operationally ready for subject platforms
- Prepare and articulate value propositions and other elements of product marketing to Sales and Marketing Communications, in concert with Product Management
- Track and report progress in meeting projected customer share-of-wallet for approved key platforms
- Devise and implement corrective action for off-plan performance
Minimum Experience Required:
- Established track record in successfully devising and implementing product strategies
- Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical, leadership, interpersonal, decision making project management, oral and written communication skills
- Strong communication, ability to foster engagement
- Demonstrated ability to lead without formal authority, to influence stakeholders at all levels
- Results orientation
- Self motivated, demonstrated propensity to autonomously work from concept to implementation
- Business aviation experience in strategy, program or product management, is a must
- Bachelor degree in Engineering or Business is a minimum, MBA is a clear advantage
