Director of Business Development – Aerostructures Manufacturing
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all business development, sales, customer service and financial administration associated with the company's Aerospace/Aerostructure Manufacturing activities. Coordinates with all company departments to ensure that the business development strategy is implemented and that the strategy supports Strategic business plan.
- Solid understanding of marketing concepts and practices, particularly in a multi channel aerospace environment.
- Ability to create marketing plans, offers, focus areas, initiatives, ideas, and present them for approval and direction.
- Capacity to manage all aspects of a marketing plan, overseeing multiple initiatives for Aerostructure Manufacturing
- Experience in executing direct marketing campaigns with testing strategies which include messaging, creative, format, and offers.
- Knowledge of e-commerce concepts and practices; ability to direct/work with HTML and other web technologies.
- Ability to think creatively, understand products, and highlight (sale) their best attributes.
- Understanding of and ability to write proposals.
- Experience in creating presentations. Ability to interpret sales reports forecast, tracking, and analysis of results.
- Understanding of Aerospace manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain management terms, systems, and practices.
- An asset if established network of industry leads and ability to establish relationships with Airlines, OEM's, Manufacturing and other Aerospace and Government entities.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to take initiative, be self-directed, champion projects.
- Perform other tasks as determined by the Senior management team.
- Comply with all company guidelines and policies.
Education, Skills & Experience:
- Must have extensive direct sales experience selling structural (sheet metal processing and sub-assemblies) manufacturing services to Tier-1 companies supporting government programs/contracts.
- A bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration or engineering.
- A minimum of 7-10 years working professionally in a comparable position such as aviation, business development, sales, or aftermarket support.
- Ability to learn new software tools quickly such as sales fulfillment and tracking software (CRM).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Experience using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat, preferred.
Other:
- Limited exposure to typical aircraft maintenance conditions such as engine noise, riveting, dust and chemical fumes, none of which to the extent of being intolerable. Hearing, vision, and breathing protection provided in appropriate areas.
- Office areas mechanically heated and air conditioned.
- 25 to 50% travel time required to meet with customers in support and execution of the business development strategy.
