Director of Maintenance (In-Flight Entertainment)
As a direct report to the Sr. Director, Maintenance Services, the Director, MS Global Operations acts as a key business leader in the Maintenance Service organization with a focus on ensuring the execution of Maintenance Services contractual obligations. The Director has global responsibility for all MS operational locations, and develops initiatives to meet or exceed performance expectations and budgeting requirements at each operational location.
Job Description:
- Developing global, strategic initiatives ensuring effective communication and interaction of MS internal staff with customers and suppliers reinforcing Company reputation as the leading provider of maintenance service within the IFE industry.
- Maintaining a full understanding of each operational site's contractual requirements and internal company commitments.
- Working with Regional MS Managers to create strategic plans to administer and manage the execution of each operational site's requirements and commitments while striving to ensure each site is at or below their budgetary requirements.
- Through knowledge of industry and industry contacts, identifying business opportunities that will increase customer satisfaction and market share.
- Communicating business opportunities for executive management review.
- Ensuring operational sites are compliant with all regulatory requirements and ensuring corrective action is taken if out of compliance.
- Managing Regional MS Managers and teams to ensure full accountability for each site's performance and consistent operational procedures within entire global organization.
Minimum requirements of the position:
- Minimum of 8 years management experience in an airline or similar Maintenance Service organization
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
- In-depth, technical knowledge of In-Flight Entertainment systems and related components preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a geographical dispersed organization especially including international locations.
- Demonstrated experience with contract negotiations and fulfillment of contract obligations.
- Demonstrated ability to organize and implement department objectives.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, assign, train, and direct employees.
- Demonstrated ability to interview, hire, and appraise employees.
- Highly developed team building skills.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including ability to present to executive decision makers.
