Charter Sales and Operations Specialist
Main Liaison:
Internal:
- Operations Controller, Asst Operations Controller, Inbound Operations Manager, SHJ Warehouse Manager, Loadmasters and Assistant Load Masters, Aviation personnel in Afghanistan, Africa, and U.A.E.
External:
- Company customers new and existing, Aircraft providers, Aircraft and cargo handling vendors, Aircraft brokers, International freight forwarding and logistics providers, Warehouse logistics vendors and personnel, Aircraft fuel providers, Traffic rights, airport and overflight agents and governmental civil aviation authorities, Civil and Military aviation authorities, Other company business units (Material Support Division, Subsistence Prime Vendor, Fuels LOGCAP, etc..)
Prime Objective:
- Manage Sales and Operations of international air cargo charters and air freight shipments to external clients and the company's BU's.
Key Tasks:
- Manages external and the company's BU customer relationships to provide air cargo charter and air freight shipment solutions and services.
- Manages and prepares proposals for all air cargo charter and air shipment request for quotes.
- Manages and prepares air cargo charter and common carriage service agreements.
- Manages and contracts charter aircraft, air freight, and common carriage services.
- Manages and contracts air cargo, aircraft, and airport handling services.
- Manages and contracts air cargo ground transportation.
- Manages and contracts freight forwarding and logistics services.
- Liaises with cargo suppliers and recipients to ensure accurate and timely cargo deliveries.
- Manages records, monitors and tracks all aviation cargo transiting from pick up to final delivery points.
- Reacts rapidly to shifting priorities while maintaining control over critical requirements.
- Builds and Manages air charter aircraft and vendor data base.
- Collects and Reports air charter and air freight market intelligence.
- Ensures receivables and payables are received and processed on a timely basis.
- Manages and maintains business relations with air carriers providing air cargo charter and air cargo common carriage services.
- Manages and maintains business relations with internal freight forwarding and logistics service providers.
- Ensures safe and efficient operations.
- Prepares and publishes operational reports.
- Works with the Operations Controller, Assistant Operations Controller, Night Operations Manager and Warehouse personnel to ensure continuous, round the clock shipment and flight tracking services and client breifings.
- Prepares and publishes all flight and shipment advisories, movement updates, ETA's, and status reports to external and internal clients.
- Aggressively tracks and monitors carrier and vendor service compliance and performance levels.
- Liaises with BU Controller and Finance team to ensure timely payment of vendors and service providers.
- Liaises with BU Controller and Finance team to ensure timely receipt of service revenues and receivables from external clients.
- Ensures compliance with ICAO, US Military, NATO, UN and host nation CAA directives.
- Liaises with external and the company warehouse and loading personnel.
- Manages vendor and client issues, and when necessary liaises with the Operations Controller, Assistant Operations controller.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Extensive heavy-jet and small aircraft air cargo charter aircraft type, capacities, range, and carrier knowledge.
- Extensive knowledge of aircraft operations and service requirements.
- Extensive knowledge of western and Russian air cargo aircraft and providers.
- Knowledge of outsized/heavy and project air cargo operations.
- Previous customer relationship management or service experience.
- Previous air cargo charter operations and procurement experience.
- Previous air freight forwarding experience.
- Previous experience contracting aircraft and cargo handling services.
- Previous experience contracting and scheduling cargo ground transport services.
- Experience tracking vendor payments and receivables.
- Ability to manage and integrate horizontally with other company business units.
- Ability to delegate, coach, and guide subordinates towards successful outcomes.
- Well develop knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook software.
- Fluent English speaking and writing.
Preferable Skills and Qualifications:
- Dangerous Goods air transport regulations and compliance knowledge.
- Air freight forwarding experience.
- Fluent Russian language spoken and written.
- Passenger air charter experience and knowledge of aircraft types and capacities.
