C-130 Jet Engine Maintenance Technician
Position Description:
Reports to the Engine Shop Chief as an Engine Mechanic. Performs all GTC-APU and T56 engine maintenance to specified C-130 standards. Removes and replaces GTC/APU and T56 engines on the C-130 aircraft and performs required repairs and functional tests. Performs engine teardown and build-up, to include QEC removal and installation. Performs on-aircraft and test cell engine runs to determine engine performance. Performs all adjustments, alignments, rigging and calibration of engine torques and related propeller components to achieve maximum operating efficiency. Inspects engines and GTC/APUs to determine and maintain serviceability. Responsible for conducting Customer training, to include OJT, and maintenance of training records for the Engine Shop. Performs other related duties as directed.
Competencies:
- Be able to speak, read, comprehend and write English clearly and distinctly.
- Be able to teardown and recondition QEC Kits, perform modular replacement of engine compressors and turbines, and build-up T56/D22A engines.
- Be qualified and capable of providing necessary job training to the Customer.
- Completion of T56 Engine Basic Engine technical School is desirable.
- Completion of high school or equivalent.
- Have the ability to work unassisted in all sections of the Engine Shop.
- Have working knowledge of aircraft maintenance forms, records and reports to meet the job standards prescribed by the RSAF.
- Knowledge of procedures involved with the inspection, removal, disassembly, testing servicing, troubleshooting, modification, repair and replacement of modular components and related systems for GTC/APU and T56/D22A engines.
Typical Education / Experience:
- Minimum of five (5) years experience on the T56 engine.
- Three (3) years experience on the C-130 aircraft is highly desirable.
