Avionics Instructor-PMEL
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design, develop and conduct courses, such as Maintenance procedures, techniques and practices applicable to on-aircraft equipment, off-aircraft servicing and re-certification of avionics equipment.
- Preparation of Training Documentation including Course Control Documents, Student Study Guides and Lesson Plans.
- Conduct general technical courses on basic principles of linear and digital electronics, radio and radar techniques.
- Conduct advanced F-15S technical courses for RSAF personnel at Skill level five (5) or above.
- Instruct courses on basic principles in aligning, inspecting, repairing, troubleshooting, overhauling, modifying, calibrating, and certifying test measurement and diagnostic equipment (TMDE).
- Be knowledgeable in calibration and working standards using advanced principles of metrology and calibration standards.
- Use TMDE to perform measurements.
- Instruct use of basic maintenance of general purpose and special to type test equipment, basic electronic workshop practices and techniques including soldering, crimping, and the use of Precision Measuring Equipment: reading and interpreting electrical, electronic and digital system diagrams.
- Supervise student practical work and ensure that safety precautions are observed, compile training progress and disciplinary reports for students in sphere of responsibility.
- Assist, when required, in the formal assessment of student progress.
- Maintain a Safe Custody Register.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Minimum seven (7) level experience required.
- Must be a graduate of a military service or recognized civilian Technical Training Course.
- Should have computer experience on word processing and database usage.
- Institute having specialized in the Precision Measuring Equipment Laboratory.
- Must have completed a formal Instructional Techniques Course, at least two (2) years.
- Must have Instructional experience, (in the past five (5) years), in the PME career field is mandatory and at least three (3) years practical experience in the PME career field.
- Measuring Equipment Laboratory (Type IV) field is also Mandatory.
