Duties and Responsibilities:

• Primary responsibilities are to develop, design, and insure the integrity of all RSAF data models and IMAGE databases.
• Provide consulting services to application developers in the area of application data requirements and design as they relate to data administration and data base administration.
• Develop and maintain an RSAF enterprise data model.
• Participate all new application development efforts from the data administration and DBA point of view.
• Ensure that all data definitions are assigned according to accepted standards.
• Develop all RSAF data models in accordance with accepted and approved standards and procedures.
• Consult and participate in the implementation of CASE tools.
• Maintain the IMAGE data dictionary according to established standards and procedures.
• Participate in the development of standards and procedures for the Application DBA function within the Directorate of Computing.
• Participate in design reviews for new IMAGE applications, assuring that new systems meet installation standards for the Applications, assuring that new systems meet installation standards for the Application DBA function to include, but not limited to: data base structure, access strategy, call limits, efficiency, integration, recoverability, and entity relationship integrity.
• Define IMAGE databases, storage groups, table spaces, tables, and grant appropriate IMAGE authorities.
• Ensure adequate backup and recovery procedures are in place.
• Monitor successful completion of IMAG back-ups and recoveries.
• Provide technical user support services for Directorate of Computing personnel.
• Monitor all abnormal events impacting data base systems and assure documented problem resolutions.
• Educate Saudi Arabian nationals in all aspects of this function.
• Carry out other as may be assigned.

Experience and Qualifications:

• BS/BA in Computer Science, a related scientific or engineering discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Position requires a highly experienced professional skilled in the methods of data analysis, data modeling, and database administration.
• Minimum of seven years experience in the HP data field, including a minimum of 4 years experience in IMAGE Data Base Administration.
• In depth knowledge required of IMAGE, relational data base modeling, and IMAGE performance and tuning experience.
• Experience conducting design reviews.
• Should have experience with IMAGE Data Dictionary.
• Must be capable of demonstrating a through knowledge and understanding of data modeling techniques using entity-relationship diagrams End data normalization techniques.
• Must have the ability to communicate effectively.
• Must demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team to insure that the Application DBA function supports the goals and objectives of the RSAF Directorate of Computing.
