Finance Controller

To be the business partner with leaders in business unit matters relating to financial decision making, financial reporting, compensation and business management. To ensure responsibility and accountability for all accounting and financial activities affecting the business including where appropriate, and directing the activities of the accounting department with a sales volume between 50 and 150 million dollars.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Ensure that:

  • Books of legal requirements are properly kept and retained for the operating unit.
  • All recording and reporting requirements are met for management and regulatory agencies accounting operations are effectively and efficiently performed.
  • Accountable for maintenance and development of administration and accounting controls.
  • Participate as a member of the General Manager's staff and with the General Manager reviews.
  • Monthly/Quarterly/Year to date operating results.
  • Operating results forecasts for month/Quarter/ Year.
  • Short and long Term strategic planning activities.
  • Provide pertinent, accurate and timely financial reports to division management.
  • Analyze and interpret maintenance manuals, airworthiness directives and service bulletins.
  • Evaluate contract pricing, terms and conditions and consults with the General Manager.
  • Evaluate new business opportunities in conjunction with senior management.
  • Actively and visibly involved in all aspects of the Divisions' business management.
  • Develop a working knowledge of the company wide financial information systems and procedures and maintain policies/procedures to effectively satisfy these.
  • Establish procedures and assure compliance i conjunction with the corporate credit function.
  • Granting of credit, adherence of credit limit, collection activities, computation and analysis of key indicators.
  • Set high standards of professional, technical and business conduct with full confidence.
  • Direct preparation of records such as agenda, notices, minutes and resolutions.
  • Review and certify vouchers and/or invoices for payment.
  • Signature authorization for all checks over $5000.
  • All other duties as assigned.

  • CPA certificate or MBA in Finance/Accounting.

Education:

  • Bachelors of Arts Degree 
  • B.A. or Bachelor of Science degree
  • B.S. from a four year college or university; or eight years related experience and/ or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Licenses:

  • Certified Public Accountant
