Position
Summary:
-
Complete
daily technical assignments required supporting
multiple project team assignments and objectives.
Independently evaluate, select and apply standard
and non-standard engineering techniques, procedures
and criteria in making adaptations and modifications
to support team objectives.

Participate in dialogue regarding specific and
detailed technical objectives, including the
preparation of oral and written reports.
Principal
Accountabilities:
-
As
assigned accountable for the following tasks:
composite ply development, new product quotes, tool
fabrication quotes, first article development,
configuration changes that involve cost estimation,
computer numerical control programming for machining
center applications, schedule coordination and
process implementation.

Responsible for ensuring composite parts or tools
are in line with COMPANY and customer supplied
quality assurance standards. Work with vendors to
track and resolve schedule and quality issues.

Schedule
the transition of tools from design through change
control to verify tooling functionality and
suitability, tool string coordination, production
part quality and tool delivery schedule.
-
Continuous
process improvement via work instructions,
statistical process control (SPC), engineering
process changes and tooling design orders.
-
Maintain
positive teaming relationship with internal and
external customers, as well as co-workers.
-
Provide
leadership to a project team as assigned.
-
Create,
direct, implement and monitor project budgets and
schedules to meet required commitment dates and
goals.
-
Responsible for multiple projects (with associated
tasks) that utilize specific knowledge and
engineering principles to develop designs and robust
manufacturing processes within a well defined time
span.

Assist in
the development and maintenance of a corporate
culture, which supports the Company's overall
business objectives and goals, by providing
leadership in issues that involve “cost, quality,
process, schedule and people”.

Provides
leadership and direction with emphasis on team
building.
-
Ensure the
company's commitment to maintain a safe workplace
and to protect the environment through the
establishment and support of Company policy and
adherence to various government regulations.
-
Fully
comply with the "COMPANY Policy Statement on
Contracting with the United States Government" in
all areas of responsibility involving direct and
indirect contracting with the United States
Government. Ensure subordinate staff is aware of the
policy and their individual responsibility and
accountability for complying with it.
-
Administer
and comply with the Company's human resources
policies and procedures to provide fair and
equitable treatment for all employees while ensuring
optimum productivity and resource utilization.

Apply the
Company's Diversity Policy to all personnel actions
and implement effective affirmative action to ensure
attainment of the company's Diversity goals.
Qualifications:
-
B.S. in
engineering with five to seven years of work
experience in composites, manufacturing, design and
development required. An equivalent combination of
education and work experience (10+ years work
experience in an engineering function and college
coursework in engineering) will be considered.

A proven
self-starter requiring little supervision with
demonstrated leadership qualities and able to
supervise project tasks and lead small groups
required.

Experience
or training in the application of various forms of
computer hardware and software is required.
