Position
Summary:
-
Provide
direct support of the manufacturing process with
technical responsibility, as assigned, for the
following areas; composite tool/part fabrication and
assembly; CNC Controls/Programming, and Project
Management.
Principal
Accountabilities:
-
Accountable for composite product design, ply
development, tool fabrication, first article
development, configuration changes that involve cost
estimation, schedule coordination and
process/project implementation.
-
Analyze
root cause of problems, implement solutions and
follow up to assure corrective action.
-
Prepare
statements-of-work and define level of effort for
various disciplines.
-
Responsible for ensuring product, process and tools
are in line with COMPANY and customer supplied
quality assurance standards.
-
Monitor
product, process and tools with past discrepancies
through root cause analysis and corrective action
planning to ensure complete resolution of past
problems.
-
Provide
continuous process improvement via work
instructions, statistical process control (SPC), and
engineering process changes.
-
Maintain
positive teaming relationship with internal and
external customers, as well as co-workers.
-
Assist in
the development and maintenance of a corporate
culture, which supports the Company's overall
business objectives and goals, by providing
leadership in issues that involve “cost, quality,
process, schedule and people”.

Provides
leadership and direction with emphasis on team
building.
-
Ensure the
company's commitment to maintain a safe workplace
and to protect the environment through the
establishment and support of Company policy and
adherence to various government regulations.

Fully
comply with the "COMPANY Service - Alabama Policy
Statement on Contracting with the United States
Government" in all areas of responsibility involving
direct and indirect contracting with the United
States Government. Ensure subordinate staff is aware
of the policy and their individual responsibility
and accountability for complying with it.

Comply
with the Company's human resources policies and
procedures to provide fair and equitable treatment
for all employees while ensuring optimum
productivity and resource utilization.

Apply the
Company's Diversity Policy to all personnel actions
and implement effective affirmative action to ensure
attainment of the company's Diversity goals.

Perform
other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications:
-
Requires a
thorough knowledge of engineering applications and
manufacturing planning procedures.
-
The
position requires a B.Sc. degree in engineering or
related discipline, plus 3 to 5 years of
manufacturing engineering work experience and/or
training required.
-
An
equivalent combination of education and years of
work experience may be considered, in lieu of a
baccalaureate degree (One or more years of college
training and 8+ years work experience in an
engineering or manufacturing function).
-
Experience
and/or education in areas that involve the
manufacture of composite material, composite
tooling, project management and CNC
Controls/Programming is desired.
