Systems Engineer
Location: Kansas
This master requisition
covers all position levels for Systems Engineer at
our Client. Your application to this master requisition

Job Description:
The successful candidate will work in a product
development atmosphere with cross-functional teams to
design, certify and produce general aviation aircraft,
business jets, and specially modified aircraft. The
Systems Engineer works with project leadership and
engineering staff to plan and conduct requirements
development, integration, verification and validation
activities that ensure the end product satisfies
Customer needs within project constraints.
Specific Responsibilities:
Requirements Development
Produce requirements specifications and architectures
for aircraft, systems and subsystems through
implementation of requirements analysis, functional
analysis/allocation and synthesis processes. Perform
technical, cost and benefit trade study analyses to
select optimized baselines. Work with Designated
Engineering Representatives (DER), Authorized
Representatives (AR) and cross-functional engineers to
capture requirements and incorporate industry standards
for environmental qualification (RTCA/DO-160), hardware
design assurance (RTCA/DO-254) and software
certification (RTCA/DO-178B).
Integration
Assist with system integration planning to assemble and
verify system elements in a logical sequence and ensure
that interface and interoperability issues are
addressed. Define and manage system interfaces.
Participate in the troubleshooting and resolution of
problems encountered during integration activities.
Verification / Validation
Define verification and validation plans and
requirements needed to ensure compliance with applicable
specifications and certification regulations. Track
verification and validation activities and
accomplishments. Participate in the troubleshooting and
resolution of problems encountered during
verification/validation activities
Risk & Opportunity Management
Participate as a member of project risk and opportunity
management teams to ensure identification and assessment
of risk / opportunity items and implementation of
appropriate handling plans.
SE Processes
Maintain and improve Company Systems Engineering processes,
tools, and procedures and provide traceability to
industry standards. Develop training materials for
in-house Systems Engineering training for project and
engineering staff
Additional Responsibilities:
Communicate with project, organization and Company
management via oral and written reports and
presentations.
Required Skills:
2+ years of Systems Engineering and/or technical project
team leadership experience on complex programs within
the aerospace industry, including:
Familiarity with Systems Engineering processes,
including requirements analysis, functional analysis /
allocation, verification, validation, integration /
interface management, and risk management.
An understanding of aircraft product development and
associated life cycle phases.
Working knowledge of a variety of aircraft systems and
equipment with respect to operation, performance and
interfaces.
Ability to lead and participate in cross-functional
teams, and work with appropriate engineering specialists
to develop technical solutions to complex problems.
Ability to perform and document trade study analyses to
select an optimized solution when a number of possible
solutions exist.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Desired Skills:
Experience with aircraft certification to Federal
Aviation Administration (FAA) or European certification
agency Part 23 and Part 25 airworthiness regulations.
Working knowledge of Requirements Management Tools, e.g.
DOORS, SLATE, TeamCenter-Systems Engineer, etc.
Direct experience writing requirements, specifications,
and Systems Engineering Management Plans.
Direct program experience starting from conceptual
development and proposal to successful systems
integration, testing and acceptance (certification)
General aviation experience is a plus.
Required Education:
B.S. or above in Engineering (aero, mechanical,
electrical, software, systems) plus two (2) years of
experience.
