Quality Assurance Engineer

Engineer at

Job Description:
Plans, organizes, directs and reports on supplier
quality related activities to assure fulfillment of
contract/purchase order requirements. Assures that
customer quality imposed requirements are adhered to by
supplier and that a quality system is maintained.
Develops, coordinates and manages the establishment of
new suppliers and improvement of existing suppliers from
a Quality standpoint. Participates in product teams
evaluating outsourcing needs and selections. Conducts
programs designed to improve supplier performance and
productivity through training and coordination of
various product assurance quality assurance efforts.
Prepares, maintains and reviews supplier quality
assurance procedures to assure compliance with customer
and/or government requirements. Implements, reviews and
analyzes corrective action programs to reduce and
eliminate supplier product defects. Monitors quality
control activities and systems at supplier and
subcontractor facilities, and maintains feedback loops.
Establishes and provides oversight for Certified
Supplier Programs or related programs to ensure greater
cost effectiveness and cost avoidance with the supplier
base.
Required Skills:
Must possess in-depth knowledge of industry and company
quality practices and standards; must also have thorough
understanding and application of Engineering principles,
concepts, practices, and standards related to the
aircraft industry. Must have the ability to interpret
engineering documents to define requirements and ensure
products and assemblies meet type design. .
Desired Skills:
The ability to interact with senior internal and
external personnel on significant matters requiring
coordination between organizations. The ability to
research/make reference to established precedents and
policies. The ability to work under general direction
and determine objectives of assignments. A self starter,
able to lead work teams to implement quality strategies.
Required Education (including Major):
6 Years, with related technical Bachelors degree;
industry experience may be substituted for educational
requirements.
