Powerplant Engineer
Location: Kansas
This master requisition
covers all position levels for Powerplant Engineer at
our Client. Your application to this master requisition
will allow our recruiters to assess your skills and
experience, and determine the most appropriate position
level.
Job Description:
Engineering – Perform research, design, and development
in aircraft powerplants, nacelles, fuel, and related
systems. Apply research to the planning, design,
development, and testing of aircraft powerplants,
nacelles, fuel, and/or related equipment. Experience in
talking design material from vendor installation manuals
and creating schematics, interface documents, spec
control documents and drawings, 3D models, and
installations in various aircraft. Will be expected to
participate in certifying 14 CFR Part 23 and/or Part 25
projects, and shall produce or contribute to
Certification Plans, Ground and Flight Test Plans and
Reports, System Safety Assessments, Functional Hazard
Assessments and Compliance Reports. Will be expected to
set powerplant system requirements and architecture.
Will be expected to direct the technical efforts of
several engineers and provide mentoring of less
experience engineers.
Requirements:
The candidate must be self motivated and be able to make
technical decisions with little or no guidance.
Thorough understanding of aircraft engine-related
systems
Contributes to the development of, and applies, advanced
technical principles, theories and concepts.
Direct and perform research/analysis, troubleshooting,
and design/integration.
Direct trade studies to determine feasibility of
designing new equipment or modifying existing equipment.
Analyze components and equipment to establish operating
data and conduct experimental tests.
Create system schematic diagrams.
Prepare qualification, test and certification compliance
reports.
Coordinate technical efforts of suppliers by supporting
prototype equipment construction, qualification testing
and FAA certification.
Investigate and resolve production and field issues as
identified both through the internal quality system and
customer feedback.
Strong drawing interpretation skills.
Experience in applying technical theories,
troubleshooting techniques, and concepts related to
aircraft powerplant systems.
Ability to perform flight test data reduction and
evaluate output, and to formulate recommendations for
next appropriate action.
Able to determine and develop approaches to solutions to
meet the desired objective.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work with customers and suppliers, both
internal and external.
Ability to work in a team environment.
PC literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Word,
Excel, and PowerPoint
Ability to support multiple engineering projects with
independent schedule commitments.
Working knowledge of 14 CFR §§23 and 25.
Desired Skills and Experience:
Prior Company Design Engineering experience and knowledge of
Company engineering systems & drawing practices.
Catia proficiency.
DER or AR with PP Systems Delegation
Experience in technical presentations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Access and Project
Required Experience and Education:
BS degree plus minimum 8 years directly-related
experience in a technical aviation field.
