Manager Engineering

Location: Kansas

This master requisition covers all position levels for Manager Engineering at our Client. Your application to this master requisition will allow our recruiters to assess your skills and experience, and determine the most appropriate position level.

Job Description:
Manage projects through the early conceptual design phase, including establishment of project requirements, coordination of technical studies, and management of budget and schedule. Work with product development specialists to successfully transition projects from conceptual design to a development and certification environment.

Responsibilities:
The manager will coordinate one or more projects at any given time, with responsibilities including the following:
Development of technical and programmatic requirements based on customer-driven input
Coordination of trade studies among various technical and non-technical organizations
Management of project budget and schedule
Interaction with external suppliers to identify potential technical solutions
Development of the business case for projects, including cost estimates and return on investment analysis
Briefing senior management on project status
Administration of project transition to a development and certification environment

Required Skills:
The successful applicant will have the appropriate communication skills to effectively work with the various technical and non-technical organizations in maturing the design concepts. In addition, the applicant will
Possess significant knowledge of one or more of the following technical disciplines: airframe structures (composites a plus), aerodynamics, mechanical systems and/or propulsion (minimum 5 years of experience in a discipline or combination of disciplines)
Have managerial experience scheduling and assigning individuals to support program tasks
Have experience in project business case development (cost estimation, return of investment analysis)
Be skilled in using Microsoft Office products

Required Education:
B.S./B.A. in Engineering, Science or Mathematics and a minimum of 8 years experience leading engineers. Twenty (20) years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
