Engineering Planner
Location: Kansas
This master requisition
covers all position levels for Engineering Planner at
our Client. Your application to this master requisition
will allow our recruiters to assess your skills and
experience, and determine the most appropriate position
level.
Job Description:
SCHEDULING TASKS:
Assists in the development of program schedule; produces
and analyzes metrics and reports. Helps to facilitate
planning or re-plans on large programs. Helps facilitate
the development of an Integrated Master Plan and
Integrated Master Schedule using customer or proposal
documentation and/or IPDS.
This candidate shall facilitate the development and
maintenance of the cost/schedule baseline as well as
create the interface files between the schedule and cost
management tools. They must also be able to identify
cost/schedule traceability issues, perform root cause
analysis and identify corrective actions.
This candidate must possess the ability to explain
concepts related to schedule analysis including:
Quantitative Schedule Analysis
Critical Path Analysis
What-If Analysis
Variance Analysis
Forward Look-Ahead Analysis
Risk Analysis
This candidate must participate in the IPDS process as
it applies to the development of the Integrated Master
Plan and the Integrated Master Schedule as well as
possess sufficient knowledge of product development
flows to be able to identify missing or incorrect
schedule inputs when developing the IMP/IMS.
EVMS Expertise required of this candidate shall be to
facilitate the integration of the schedule and the cost
baseline and use indices to predict future performance.
They shall also facilitate management decision making
processes using EVMS information.
BIDS AND PROPOSAL TASKS:
The candidate for this job must be able to identify
skill codes and incorporate into spreadsheet without
assistance from a higher level bid estimating person.
This person must be able to assist the Program Manager
and Project Engineer with the Statement of Work as well
as prepare bid sheets with some functional assistance
from a higher level bid estimating person utilizing
comparable and actual program history or estimating
standards to ensure that all items have been completed
for accurateness. The candidate will also have a basic
understanding of how bids from other functional groups
are prepared. Having some knowledge of the Marketing
Requirements Document and how it is used in the bidding
process from conception to entry into service.
OTHER TASKS INCLUDE:
Creating Filters, Plots and Charts
Perform Data Analysis
Validation and Integrity Checks
Understanding how bids are input into the database
system and can input with minimal assistance from a
higher level bid estimating person
Basic Understanding of a Supplier Statement of Work and
how it applies to the proposal
Must have the ability to prepare and create a
Manufacturing Bill of Material with the help from a
higher level estimating person
Must have the ability to create an Engineering Bill of
Material with the help from a higher level estimating
person
Must be able to develop a Risk Management Plan with the
help from a higher level estimating person
Interface Scheduling Tools Electronically with Access
and/or Excel

*MUST POSSESS STRONG PC SKILLS
Desired Skills:
Six Sigma Training
Knowledge of a specific functional discipline such as
engineering is valuable in the development of schedules
and ensuring that all required activities and
deliverable documentation is included.
Required Education(including Major):
Bachelor’s Degree plus 4 years of work experience or 16
years related work experience
