Aerospace Engineer

position levels for Aerospace Engineer at our Client.

Job Description:
This team member will provide oversight, support, and
coordination of new and/or amended type certification
projects (FAA Part 23 & Part 25), working with Program
Engineering and Certification Management to successfully
complete conceptual definition efforts to support new
product offerings.
Key efforts and activities include:
Engineering product definition with
emphasis in Aerodynamics or fluid mechanics;
Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) methods from Panel
Code to Navier Stokes; Use of grid-generation package;
visualize complex 3-dimensional aircraft configurations
and use of Post-Processing package to achieve specific
program, company, and regulatory objectives. Examples of
specific tasks include preparing and/or reviewing CFD
analysis, supporting process and software based tool
improvements and implementation to help achieve reduced
computational times; ensuring completeness and
timeliness of aerodynamic deliverables, including:
Analyses, drag computation, lift coefficient
distributions and identification of areas of
unacceptable aerodynamic effects.
Task assignments may also include working with Product
Research and Strategy representatives to model and
assess competitor’s products to confirm published
performance data; collaborating with strategic partners
in an advanced design atmosphere; and correlation of
wind tunnel test results with CFD predictions.
Desired Skills:
Experience with a mix of CFD methods from Panel Codes to
Navier Stokes
Experience with one or more Grid-Generation package
Experience with one or more Post-Processing package
A desire to work on interesting aerodynamics problems
A desire to work with other disciplines in a
collaborative, Advanced Design atmosphere
Familiarity with the civil aircraft configurations,
engineering experience.
Computer Skills
Programming ability in Fortran and/or C++
Experience with Linux / Unix computer systems
Ability to write Unix scripts to control job execution
Required Education:
Bachelors Degree and an advanced degree is desired plus
a minimum of 2 years related experience; Prefer a
technical or engineering degree but will consider other
related directly degrees. Emphasis in aerodynamics or
fluid mechanics required. May substitute 14 years of
directly related experience for the degree.
