Aeronautical Engineer
Location: Kansas
This master requisition covers all
position levels for Aeronautical Engineer at our Client.

Job Description:
Conduct and document aircraft
aerodynamic and performance analysis, or
alternatively the creation of gas turbine propulsion
characteristics in support of aircraft performance
analysis, for commercial aircraft and special
mission derivatives.
Support aircraft upgrade projects,
new product development, marketing requests,
production line and field/fleet issues.
Provide occasional
inter-organizational and outside customer
communications. The candidate may represent the
organization in coordinating regularly with project
groups, technical publications, and marketing.
Required Skills:
General understanding and application
of technical theories and concepts, and experimental
and theoretical principles and practices, in the
fields of aerodynamics and aircraft performance or
aircraft propulsion systems.
Ability to be a self-starter, yet
work under close mentorship, whether independently
or as part of a team.
Ability to contribute to planning the
technical approach for the solution of problems;
demonstrated team leadership and organization skills
are a plus.
Strong written and oral
communications skills.
Must be willing to write flight test
requests, plans, and procedures; support flight and
ground testing; reduce and analyze flight test
results; generate Aircraft Flight Manual and Pilot’s
Operating Handbook/Manual performance data (tabular
and/or graphical) or propulsion characteristics used
to generate these data; and document all aspects of
work performed. General familiarity with the FAA compliance process
and applicable advisory material pertaining to
aircraft performance - CFR Part 23 and Part 25 and
operational rules. Familiarity with JAR-OPS1 is
desirable.
Ability to support the creation of
FAA certification plans and approaches, and to
present and defend technical results to the extent
necessary to support findings of compliance.
Ability to understand FORTRAN and
Visual Basic source code, and must be comfortable
using MS Office applications particularly Excel,
Access, and Word.
Candidate will be expected to
participate in activities driving continuous
improvement of technical tools, processes, and
methods.
Desired Skills:
Skill in using and validating highly
specialized computer and software systems.
Ability to write software programs
using Visual Basic, and familiarity with OpenVMS
(VAX) operating system.
Required Education:
Minimum of two (2) years of directly
applicable experience is required with a minimum of
a B.S. in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
Equivalent experience and degrees in a related
Engineering discipline, Physical Science or
Mathematics may be considered.
