Duties and
Responsibilities:
-
Experience with the use of techniques and procedures of systems
analysis and design; software design and development; project
management; programming methods; data processing equipment
operation; computer capability, capacity and logic, engineering
practices; Oracle RDBMS, both in a PC and mainframe environment;
Oracle related and compatible applications; data base design and
testing; structured development methodologies; system life cycles;
networking; data communications; Configuration Control procedures;
MS Office applications.

Perform additional duties as required by supervisor.

Ability to back up, recover, reorganize, and monitor performance and
use of relational databases, database structures, and RDBMS.
-
Ability to communicate effectively with application developers,
database administrators and RSAF EWDB personnel.
-
Ability to install, maintain and upgrade RDBMS.
-
Apply
knowledge to translate business data requirements into optimally
performing database.
-
Demonstrate the ability to manage a small group of engineering
support and maintenance personnel.
-
Demonstrate the ability to work as part of an overall management
team.
Knowledge
and Experience:
-
Knowledge of information topics (e.g., information analysis,
distributed data architecture and databases, data replication and
warehousing, information access methods, data analysis and modeling,
distributed database design and connectivity, performance monitoring
and tuning, operating system administration, RDBMS and database
operations, procedural languages, etc.).
-
Knowledge of relational database management systems (RDBMS),
supporting operating systems, transaction managers, database tools,
utilities, gateways, and middleware.
-
Typically a person in this position will have 707 airframe
experience.
