Phase Inspection Technician (AWACS)

Duties and
Responsibilities:
-
Perform aircraft maintenance for the
Royal Saudi Air Force AWACS fleet.
-
Technicians will test, troubleshoot,
install, remove, inspect, maintain and repair system components and
ancillary equipment of installed systems in accordance with current
RSAF/Boeing technical publications.
-
Applies technical knowledge to perform
routine tasks following detailed instructions.
-
Performs such tasks as replacing
components, structural repair, hydraulic systems maintenance and
wiring circuits.

Usage of common instruments such as
digital multimeters, signal generators and oscilloscopes a must.
-
Receives technical guidance as required
from supervisor or higher level technician.
-
Work is spot checked for accuracy.
-
Prior USAF Avionics/Electrical
technician performing Organizational or Intermediate level
maintenance a plus.

Perform additional duties as required
by supervisor.
Experience:
-
Prefer seven years AWACS experience or
equivalent. Airframe and Powerplant license a plus.
-
Assemble and disassemble aircraft
components by changing, removing, and/or replacing parts/Line
Replaceable Units (LRU).
-
Connect and disconnect components
(e.g., flanges, fittings, connectors) for testing and/or inspection.
-
Fabricate aircraft details (e.g.,
brackets, clamps) by applying manufacturing processes (e.g.,
drilling, shaving, riveting) to raw materials (e.g., wire, sheet
metal, rivets).

Install components (e.g., torquing
nuts/bolts, splicing wires). Install safety-wire/safety-cable.

The ability to communicate with
technical personnel and assimilate technical information to gain an
understanding of product technology, as well as the implications of
internal processes that will the functional responsibilities of the
occupation.

Typically a person in this position
will have 707 airframe experience.
